Koslow however used the machine to beautify the rooms in his house in Bitasyon Francelle with furniture and art objects from different museums in the world – developing in the process a wild passion for collection. In 1980 though, his daughter came up with the idea of borrowing an antique wine-mixing bowl, the «Pronomos-Krater», orginally from the Archaeological Museum in Naples, for a school party. Unsurprisingly, the bowl broke when they stirred coconut punch in it. When Koslow heard about this accident, he hastened to pretend that the bowl was just a replica, a cheap souvenir of his last journey to Europe. He therefore took away all the shards and allowed them to be salted away in various secret depots. He therefore took away all the pieces of his collection from his home and hided them in various secret depots.

Later the same year the Port Louis police raided one of these depots. The Asian art objects they found in an old house on the Rue du Raifort, a few years later became the basis of the collection of the Musée des Arts Asiatiques of Santa Lemusa. Much of Koslow's collection is said to be hidden in different depots still. On the other hand, one constantly encounters things on the island that lead one to believe that they also could exist in another part of the world – as a result of an extraordinary duplication.
