Pimenta dioica is one of the 20 ingredients of Maille-Masala, the hot spice blend of «Mission Kaki». Each ingredient that Hektor Maille finds during his research in India is reminiscent of a particular scene from the 20 different episodes of the travel adventure «Mission Kaki». Allspice refers to: Scene 7 in Episode 16 («Mishmash in Jerusalem»).

Marie was assumably not fully aware of this whole dialectic, or rather anti-dialectic, when she had «O» for Odette tattooed on her belly. The cook of the best man in the Lemusan Secret Service simply sprayed her lips and pressed them firmly against the belly of the dangling acrobat, and her lipstick, the dark orange colour of which differed little from the natural hue of her lips, left a criss-cross, coloured imprint on the first letter of her name on Marie's skin.
