Almost as comforting as the dream in which Maille wandered through a dark forest by mistake, stumbling over the stones of a gurgling stream and eventually found a small black notebook, within the pages of which he found the whole story along with the solution to the case – written in his very own hand. It is rare that things are smelling in your dreams, but in that dream it clearly smelled of fennel – or was that the mats on which he slept.

He was punished with a serial to the dream, in which he fled through dark passages, followed by terrible grimaces, and finally woke up under a huge bell – in a totally deserted Buddhist monastery behind seven mountains.
