Scene 21

Maille did not know what to make of the message. What kind of «proof» was meant – and why, of all places, Sweden? Maille felt clueless. Ah, how much he would have liked to have asked Zhang a few questions. He sat down in a museum salon and hid himself discreetly behind a newspaper – perhaps somebody would show up. Of course, he did not really get the feeling that it would lead him anywhere – but, at the moment, he had no other idea.

Could the China-track really be at the end here? It seemed so. It appeared to become clearer with every minute that Maille sat there, hoping that some answer might come in with the rain that was now again pelting down through the branches of the trees.
