Hann, north of the Botanical Garden

Scene 14

On the following morning Maille allowed himself to take a taxi ride to Parc de Hann. There, one could find vultures and parrots of all types, a pond with cormorants, storks and pelicans. But of Jenadi Koslow there was absolutely no trace. The card from the CD jacket pointed clearly to a spot north of the pond. For hours Maille sneaked through the swampy thicket, his feet wet, his limbs stung by mosquitoes and his mood becoming more and more foul. He left no leaf unturned, no bush or tree unexplored for a spur of Koslow – but his painstaking search proved futile.
